Who are the founders?
Founded by Charlie & Jack, MarksUp is built on the passion and drive to innovate and provide exceptional service. 

After leaving school, Charlie began his career in finance, working in the consulting department at EY. He then co-founded Community Clean, a mobile valeting company that quickly became a two-time award winner for its innovative approach and commitment to customer satisfaction. The experience of building a business from the ground up fuelled his desire to create something even bigger—something that would impact the education industry in a meaningful way.

With a strong foundation in mathematics and a passion for data-driven solutions, Jack Savage began his journey at the University of Exeter, earning a BSc in Mathematics. Combining his analytical skills with practical applications, Jack embarked on a career that spans data analytics and client-focused roles. Jack demonstrated his technical innovation by building a custom LLM-powered Telegram bot designed to improve community engagement in decentralized finance (DeFi) projects, showcasing his ability to apply AI technology to foster collaboration and engagement

Our Story
MarksUp was born out of a simple yet powerful realization. Charlie, was an ambitious student who quickly discovered that completing practice essays was one of the best ways to prepare for A-Levels. However, he also found that without receiving detailed marks and feedback, the true value of his hard work was limited.

While teachers were often overloaded with marking, Charlie struggled to get the constructive feedback he needed to improve. That's when the seed for MarksUp was planted. Drawing on his experience in both the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds, Charlie set out to create a solution: a platform that connects students with experienced exam markers who can provide fast, reliable feedback on their practice papers. He connected with Jack in order to harness the power of AI to bring his vision to life.

At MarksUp, we are on a mission to help students achieve their full potential by offering an easy way to receive expert feedback on their practice papers. Our platform allows A-Level students to upload their work and get detailed, actionable feedback from experienced exam markers—just like they would in an actual exam setting.
